You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown

The show is best described as an average day in the life of Charlie Brown. It is a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening.

The story of the play itself is told through a series of vignettes that mimic the four-panel format used by the original cartoon strip, "Peanuts." This panel format is supplemented with longer passages that are vaguely reminiscent of Shakespearean soliloquies and by musical interludes.



Barefoot in the Park

A young couple, Corrie and Paul Bratter, move into their first Manhattan apartment, a five-flight walkup. The very romantic start to their life together is given a bit of a shake-up as the conservative young lawyer and vivacious wife work through intrusions by her mother and their introduction to Mr Belasco, the eccentric upstairs neighbor.

This is the story of Robert (Bobby), his 5 sets of married friends, and his 3 girlfriends. Think "Sex and the City" as a slightly nonrealistic but very stylish and introspective musical comedy. Legendary Broadway bard Stephen Sondheim created this true-to-life Upper West Side dating fantasia many years ago, and it is one of the more frequently-produced of his efforts in the regionals. The series of vignettes follow "Bobby", a feller who is just trying to find the right dame... for the evening, and wondering at his friends who seem to be setting in for a considerably longer haul.
